The Department of Tourism (DOT) has acknowledged the cooperation of various volunteers from government agencies and the private sector which took part in the clean-up activities in Manila Bay offshoots on Sunday.
Called “Battle for the Rivers and Esteros,” the exercise was part of the rehabilitation efforts in Manila Bay, at the same time, directed at enabling communities to preserve the waterways.
Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo- Puyat lauded Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu and Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano for managing Sunday’s activity.
Last January 27, the rehabilitation of Manila Bay officially began in a bid to revive it to its former grandeur as a well-known water landmark.
