Kennon Road, one of the roads in and out of popular mountain destination Baguio City, will be open to two-way traffic on weekends, only for light vehicles with a total weight of up to five tons.
The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) office said the opening will be from Friday at 6:00 p.m. to Monday, 6 a.m.
“This scheme will run until the Holy Week 2019 or upon the advice of the Task Force Kennon Road or the Office of the Civil Defense,” DPWH-CAR said in its announcement.
Kennon Road was totally closed in September last year for reconstruction work following damage from landslides and typhoons. It was partly opened for residents since December and temporarily in February for Baguio’s Panagbenga Festival and the Philippine Military Academy’s homecoming event.
