One of the trails in Mount Pulag, Benguet was closed once again after a part of the trail was destroyed by forest fire.
Mount Pulag National Park, through its Facebook page, announced the shut down of Akiki Trail for rehabilitation.
This was after a fire occured in Eddet and Poblacion in Kabayan, Benguet that affected a part of the natural trail.
The closure is intended to protect the hikers from exploring the damaged trail.
“In view of the forest fire that occurred in the Eddet area and Poblacion Kabayan, Benguet, the Park Management is closing the Akiki Trail for rehabilitation for the safety of trekkers,” said the management of Mount Pulag National Park in their Facebook page on Tuesday.
In another statement, tthe incident is said to undergo an investigation and assessment.
A portion of Mount Pulag was closed down in January 2018 due to a stove that started the fire.
